The Photographic Gallery SMA is the center for photography in San Miguel de Allende. Originally named Galería de Arte Fotográfico (and later Galería Photo/Graphic) the gallery was founded in 1997 by Jo Brenzo, who was professor of photography for two decades at Bellas Artes, the national art school of Mexico, where she introduced photography as a fine art to the public. The Gallery holds exhibits, offers classes, one-day photography excursions, and traveling workshops throughout Latin America. The Gallery also hosts a coffee social for photographers every Saturday at 11 am.
